Viola comes from a town in Wisconsin and V-Twin is an engine design made famous by Harley Davidson, also from Wisconsin. Combining the two terms was first done by S&S Cycle Inc from Viola, Wisconsin. Over a decade ago Viola V Twin was conceived and Trademarked by S&S as a parts manufacturing and distribution company that expanded on the more standard service parts used in repair and maintenance of engines in the V-Twin format.

S&S Cycle was leveraging the market position as a major supplier to independent motorcycle parts and repair facilities to also offer and additional but complementary line of standard parts. This would give the parts purchaser a trusted source of quality aftermarket replacement parts. The trend among many aftermarket parts distributors in those years,was to bolster their parts offerings with lower quality off shore parts. S&S Cycle was solving a real problem. This was to be a parallel distribution of quality aftermarket Harley Davidson driveline parts, competing directly with Harley Davidson and putting the independent shops and stores on equal footing with Official dealerships.
The introduction of “Viola V Twin” was innovative and coming from a trusted company such as S&S Cycle was exciting.

Sadly the market conditions could not support the continuation of Viola V Twin and it was shut down after only four years.
Viola VTwin Today
Today Viola VTwin is a Harley parts look-up website that is the first node of a projected larger network. ViolaVTwin.com had a meaningful beginning in the Harley Davidson parts and accessory marketplace.
The chance to register the domain name and have the opportunity to be the steward going forward was something that fits the vision of the VTwin Network, which was created by Aerial Salvage
Aerial Salvage is not affiliated with S&S Cycle Inc. or Harley Davidson Motorcycle Inc. The intended purpose of this new use of the violavtwin.com domain is to publish a compilation of data from discarded projects around the function of identifying parts and components used to repair or restore motorcycles that were either produced by Harley Davidson or are subjective “clones” of Harley Davidson motorcycles.
